Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is a progressive, degenerative condition with a profound impact on those diagnosed with it and on those who care for them. PD is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer’s, and it is estimated that the number of persons living with PD will double by 2040. To assist community providers to better understand and respond, this presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of Parkinson’s Disease.

Course Objectives Include:

1) Overview of motor and non-motor symptoms of PD and impact on daily living

2) Diagnosis and progression of the disease and treatments for PD management

3) Challenges to mental health and wellness for persons living with PD and their care providers

4) Resources for optimal wellbeing while living with a chronic, progressive neurological disease

Anne has over a decade of experience as a Home Health Care Clinician and is certified in LSVT-Big, an evidence-based, intensive treatment program for people with PD.
