This presentation is designed to enhance the understanding of providers working in a variety of community settings to engage and respond to persons who are chronically homeless.
Course Objectives Include:
1) Historical background of chronic homelessness in U.S.
2) Deinstitutionalization and changes in civil commitment law
3) Principles of interaction with people who are homeless
4) Strategies for designing programs that engage persons who are homeless

Instructor:
LICSW, MSW, Director of Clinical Operations and Training at the Lynn Shelter Association. For 30 years Tom has worked to develop and implement innovative programs to end homelessness in Greater Boston, including permanent housing, economic mobility models, and clinical strategies.
