This course will help providers know when an older client is beginning to show signs of memory loss that could be the start of Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia.

- Articulate the difference between memory loss that occurs in normal aging versus that which occurs in Alzheimer’s disease.
- Describe the evidence-based lifestyle changes including diet and exercise that are proven to reduce one’s risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
- Teach general approaches to agitation and other problems in dementia including the ABCs, 4 R’s, 3 time principles, and start with small steps.
This course will also enhance provider practice serving people of any age. It will offer providers guidance regarding how they can teach families to manage the problems that often come with dementia with four different approaches for various types of problems.
