    Accessing Affordable Health Care

    This course will enhance clinicians by given them the expertise required to assist clients in finding suitable and affordable health insurance coverage which allows them to access the health care services they need.
    Participants will earn how Medicare, Medicaid (MassHealth) and the MA. Health Connector programs are administered and use that information to effectively advocate on behalf of vulnerable, underserved populations and potentially advocate for or support policy changes. 
    Upon completion, attendees will be able to:

    • Understand the mission of and eligibility criteria for the Health Connector, Medicaid (MassHealth), and Medicare (SHINE) programs.    
    • Learn the application process and/or be able to instruct a client on how to access services for the Health Connector, Medicaid (MassHealth), and Medicare (SHINE) programs.
    • Understand the benefits offered by each of these programs, and the supports available through the MA. Health Connector and SHINE programs.
